💊 Therapeutic Uses

Menopausal hot flashes (clinical evidence), excessive sweating, sore throat (gargle), digestive complaints, gout and rheumatism (traditional), antimicrobial for oral infections. Different from Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea).

Drug Interactions None known

Contraindications: Avoid in epilepsy (thujone content). Avoid in pregnancy. Limit to 2 cups daily long-term — thujone accumulates. Not for children under 12.

Side Effects: Thujone neurotoxicity at high doses. Possible oestrogen-like effects.
